Aim for What is Right

Countless numbers of people have their own perspectives on where we came from. The largest group of people support the claim that we are the image of God. We as humans were made in his image. Others claim that we have revolutionized over millions of years through adaptation and natural selection. No matter the argument, humans are imperfect and there is nothing we can do to change that fact. Although, there are workarounds which us to our topic of discussion.

One workaround, which was stated by a close friend of mine, is striving to be "great" instead of aiming for "perfection." The word great has been tossed around by many of the most successful individuals in the world. Each and every one of them use the word great in many of their speeches because of what the word great actually means to them. To those people, great may be a booster word to jump start their day. Or it can be what inspires them to change an aspect of themselves to achieve a higher level of "greatness."

What is strongly suggested is that they did not instantly gain success because of reaching for a level of perfection. Instead, they focused on dividing their ultimate goal into sub-levels, like a ladder. Each rung is an individual goal which will help you push your way to the top where your ultimate goal is set.

Following such a method will not only place you in a great opportunity on each rung, but will boost your confidence, self-esteem, and give you the spark to meet your expectations. We aren't perfect, so try not to expect yourself to be. It is our imperfections which makes us perfect.

Be the Change You Wish to See

Everyday, I hear people speak about what they wish to see change in the world. Whether its about changing something in the local community, changing something about our country, or even changing something about the world. I notice that while they are spilling out what they wish to see change, they aren't taking part in making the change happen.

For example, one may be walking through a town of poverty where people are living on the streets, eating out of trashcans, and begging others for money. In their minds they wonder, "Why doesn't anybody help them out? Why can't we get these homeless off the streets?" Yet, they continue on their way with their lives, placing the homeless into their memory banks as they worry about some other thing. Instead, what this person could do, is take part in volunteering at a homeless shelter. Feeding the needy, donating old clothing, or even sparing some of their time to listen to homeless individual's stories.

Displaying a sign of affection towards them is the change that needed to occur. Taking the active role, the leadership role, and plunging head first into what you wish to see is how change happens. In order to understand the change you want to see, you must first experience that change.

Take Martin Luther King Jr. as an example. Let us look past all the marches and all the speeches he took part in and let us look at what his motivation might have been. He lived in a time of great oppression towards the colored community. He experienced turmoils most of us may never, and hopefully will never get to experience. So what he did, is he took the active role, and became the change he wanted to see in the world. The world was violent, so he acted on non-violent confrontation. The world wanted him silent, so he acted in his speeches and voiced his opinion. The world wanted him give up his dream, but instead, he acted upon his dream and led a movement so powerful it swayed a nation. What Mr. King did was become the change he wished to see. He felt what it felt to be that change and used his experience to lead others into feeling what he felt.

All in all, people follow those who take the leadership role. They wish to see others do what they think they cannot do. So you know what that means? Be their change! Be your change! Be what you want to see and what you want will develop and you will live a very wealthy life.Podcast

The Power of Your Decisions

The Power of Your Decisions

America was founded on the belief that everybody has a choice. Every individual has the ability to make a choice which will reflect itself onto their lives in either a positive or negative manner. However, those who make those choices sometimes fail to develop an entire picture before they make that decision. Some act upon the first spur of a positive thought without first contemplating on what the negative consequences might be. While on the other hand,  they over think every aspect of the decision and fail to engage in the opportunity because they could not decide on what they thought was best for them.

So in other words, follow a procedure that you can develop which will help your decisions in a clearly, fashionable way so it can make a positive impact on your life. Layout your decision on paper, on your computer, your phone, whatever you may use and map out every possibility. Think of all the negative repercussions and positive benefits and choose the one that's heavier. If there's too much negative, don't go for it. If there's a lot of positive, well you know what to do.

The Keys to Living a Healthy Life w/ a Bonus Method!

Living in the USA has its incredible benefits and opportunity. We are able to import and produce goods in great abundance.  However, our over abundance of artificial products are helping our reputation as the fattest country in the world. Our obesity rate equals to one-third of U.S. adults. We have more McDonalds and fast food joints than almost every other country as well. So what kind of solutions do we have to fight off this bad reputation?

Many doctors and health specialists are seeking into better diet programs and encouraging the people to watch what they eat and especially where food is coming from. Most big name companies which offer food products you see at your local food mart isn't always properly made. Some of them put various chemicals and other substances into the making of the foods.

So one way to eat better is buy your food from local farmers at farmers markets. The food they provide are  freshly grown and have less chemicals. Plus, its always a great deed to help out your fellow citizens who grow their own food and your food.

Another way which should be obvious is getting up and moving. Our bodies have its own mechanisms to burning fat, whether you're awake or asleep. Your body is constantly feeding itself and using what you have to keep itself going. To help the process, you need to implement constant movement in your lifestyle. Try to walk more to local places, ride your bike, or run around your house a couple times. Any bit of motion which does not involve sitting in a car can aid you into losing a couple of pounds.

What I notice most people don't do is drink the recommended amount of water everyday. Our bodies are almost made entirely of water so ingesting the recommended amount keeps your body functioning normally. The cells in your body is made of water and the dissolving property of water allows your cells to use the essentials during biological processes.

The last thing I would like to mention is something which most people have never heard of. It is considered the tree of life and it has proven to sustain life and provide you everything you need. It is called the Moringa Oleifera tree. It is a tropical plant grown in usually semiarid, tropical, and subtropical areas. But enough of where its grown, but rather, why would I bring something like this up?

The reason why is because of its INCREDIBLE health benefits which can supplement what you get from milk, bananas, carrots, and oranges! According to Moringa Benefits, the tree, its roots, and its leaves all grant us abundant nutritional value.

You can receive all the following from this tree in one serving:

  • 125% daily value of Calcium
  • 61% daily value of Magnesium
  • 41% daily value of Potassium
  • 71% daily value of Iron
  • 272% daily value of Vitamin A
  • 22% daily value of Vitamin C
The above facts definitely classify this tree as the tree of life. And if you are a skeptic, take the time to Google,  YouTube, or  whatever way you want to find out the facts, do it. You will be surprised by how many testimonials and videos about this amazing tree clarifying its brilliant properties.

One thing though which may be a problem is the abundance of the tree in the United States. If you live in hot, dry climate regions, you can order the seeds yourself and grow them! Also, they sell capsules of crushed, dried Moringa leaves at the Vitamin Shoppe! They come with 60 capsules so within 2 months, compare how you felt now to then and feel the difference! I promise you'll get what you paid for!

To wrap it up, take care of yourself! You are the one who must live in your body every second and I know you want what's best for it. So take these tips and any other tips and tricks you might find and get to work!

Never EVER Forget to say Goodbye

So we all know that they're certain things we do in order to hold steady relationships with people. We make sure to have a great first impression, to connect to their personality, and to communicate comfortably. However, what I've noticed when it comes down to keeping a great friend or connect is the way you say goodbye.

Saying goodbye isn't only a way of exiting a situation, but closing the deal. Imagine you're at your first job interview. You're nervous, palms sweaty, feet shaking, and you're completely focused on your first impression. Well, imagine you pass the first test and then you have to sell yourself to your (hopefully) future employer. You pass that test as well. Finally, you reach the end of the interview and it is time to seal the deal. The employer loves your resume, loves your skill, but specifically, loves you! However, you still need to say goodbye the right way in order for that love to continue into your job. Want to know why?

Goodbyes have always had a beautiful meaning between people throughout all of time. So what you're doing with your employer is fully closing off the conservation with a specific meaning that you want to be there, or don't want to be there, or any other third reason. A pleasant, warm goodbye will display your excitement into the workplace and bring acceptance into the mind of your employer. A distant goodbye with little words will indicate hesitance, nervousness, skepticism, things you don't want your employer to assume.

Now we're all guilty of not wanting to talk to people sometimes and you want to act distant so they'll leave you alone and that is acceptable. However, try not to be completely rude about it. Do it in a nice and pleasant manner so they aren't left with a million questions or wondering if you hate them or something of the sort.

In other words, always make sure to give a warm goodbye to everybody you meet. You want the people you interact with to know who you really are and let them know that you would like to have some kind of relationship with them. Practice your goodbyes in the mirror like you would go over lines for a play. Understand the situation and play your cards the right way. You might end up with a large reward!

Key to Success is as Easy as Breathing

Everybody wants to be able to be successful. Nobody wants be end up failing in life by not achieving their dreams and aspirations. Most of us know how to reach our goals but don't know where to start. Some of us simply don't have the drive to want to go after what we really want.

How Bad Do You Want It?

This is one of the most famous success story videos on YouTube and it is voiced by Eric Thomas, former Cincinnati Bengal, New York Jet, and Denver Bronco. In the video, he speaks of a man who wished to be successful but didn't know how. So he thought he could find a solution by going to a guru. From experiencing the teaching of the Guru, the man realized what it takes in order to be successful.

The message: When you want to succeed, as much as you want to breathe, then you will be successful. In order for you to build up the strength, the motivation, the drive to be successful in your life, you must want it more than life itself. You must place every single molecule of you into what you love to do because what you want to achieve can only be accomplished by having 100% passion for it.

When you look at people who are experts at what they do, it didn't happen over night. It took them years to get to where they are at. It took them a million more failures than wins and they know how it feels to be knocked down to the point where they want to absolutely quit.

But they didn't quit. Those people who are considered the greatest didn't quit when those times popped up. Those times where it felt like there wasn't a way out, they found a way. That is the only way to succeed. You must have an absolute passion for what you do that you disregard the pitfalls and complete failures.

If you want to succeed, you must want it as bad as if you were on your last breath of air.You fight your hardest to breathe. You want to be able to take that breath so you can live on. Keep going for that breathe in your life and keep moving forward while never looking back. Learn from your mistakes and take them as opportunities to improve brilliantly! You have what it takes! Good luck!

Never Stop Using Your Natural Gifts

Humans have been given many gifts which has been able to keep us alive for millions of years. We've gone through brutal trials and tribulations as a race and yet, we still walk and talk to this day because of these incredible gifts. These gifts are something you use constantly. You use them every day. Do you know what they are?

One of them is the beautiful gift of knowledge. We have the capacity to create, attain, and maintain endless amounts of knowledge. From our basic motor skills to designing the most intricate sculptures.

For millions of years knowledge has been used for us to survive and utilizing survival methods has revolutionized dramatically over the course of time. However, in order for us to attain knowledge, we must understand that we have another incredible gift, the gift of learning.

Our brains have many, many compartments which hold knowledge and allow you to go in and pull it out at will. However, in order for knowledge to be placed into these compartments, we must be able to know how to learn. We must take the knowledge we are gaining and learn its usage so we can apply it for our future selves to utilize.

One way of learning which I mainly want to focus on is our ability to understand language. Language is an amazing tool humanity owns because that is one of the major ways we learn ever since we came out of the womb. We learn by experiencing events in our lives and interpreting them with language so we can better understand our experiences. Babies use language to pair what they see. That is why when we were children, we know what a tree, a ball, or a car is.

So what was the point of all this? Why did I suddenly bring up knowledge, learning, and reading to the table? Because these three gifts are what is going to keep you alive. They are what is going to keep generations of humans alive for the next Nth amount of years.

But what I truly wish to emphasize is reading. Reading isn't just books. Reading is everything. Reading signs, reading emotions, reading languages, reading everything is what will help you attain the knowledge you need to survive. It is a sacred gift which we can never lose.

So take this post and think about how you attain knowledge. Would you rather read more? Would you rather experience more? Whatever way you can think of, own it. Own it and apply it to everything you do. Never stop learning. Never stop attaining knowledge.

The Famous Line Which Will Live Throughout the Ages

So we all know who the man on the right is right? No it isn't Grandpa Larry. This man was the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. He is one of the most renowned men in history because of his accomplishments (and he's on the penny). With that in mind, you can figure that he was an intellectual type with a keen eye for understand people.

To understand people, you must understand their character. That's why he came up with one of the most famous quotes in history: "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

No truer words can be said when we wish to know the root of all good and evil. To fully understand the extent of someone, do not judge them by the accomplishments of everyday hardships. Why? Because Ab said, "Nearly all men can stand adversity ..." meaning that almost everybody is able to overcome turmoils, change, obstacles, anything of the sort. We have the strength and will to stand adversity which is normal in life. However, to truly understand what somebody will or will not do, give them power.

Have you ever seen the movie Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carey and Morgan Freeman? If you haven't you need to stop reading this and go watch it because it is HILARIOUS and I don't want to spoil the movie for you. But that's not the point of why I brought it up. The point of the movie is to demonstrate what a man or woman might do when given the position to rule over life with absolute power. As seen in the movie, only selfish needs were fulfilled with no regard of helping others.

So what do you think about Ab's quote? Do you believe that the only way to understand the true nature of somebody is by giving them power? Or was Ab just pulling rabbits out of his tall hat?

I had a few amount of people answer these questions already so maybe they'll help get your brain started:

+Ankur Thakur said: "It would mean that one's real nature and potency is seen, when he is given Powers... Its the time, when he is examined for his strength.. Its on him, whether to use it for the good sake of world or for his own sake... Have you seen Bruce Almighty? Just an example of it..."

+James Lertora  said: "It says to me that power is the one thing that releases you to act the way you really are inside. If you give someone enough money(power) to stop going to work, what do they do? Do they become professional couch potatoes, or go the the gym 4 hrs a day? Do they contribute to society or do they pursue selfish pursuits? It is like what does a person think about or do when no one is looking. Sorta the same thing."

+Leanne Sinclair said: "There are various different forms in which power can be identified. In some cases power can actually result in being put under more pressure to endure more stressful situations. In this case, it would be a test of whether a person can maintain their good nature. Someone of a strong character would embrace the power without altering their own personality too much. "

What is Your Lifestyle?

We all live, to a certain degree, in a cycle of sequences. We get up, we do our daily activities, and then we go to bed. However, what goes on during the day varies from person to person because we all live in our own unique world. The way of life is how you see it. Whether you see it from the viewpoint of a construction worker, a business man, a model, or even a zookeeper. But what exactly makes up someone's lifestyle and how would you label it so?

Well, everybody goes through different experiences because of what we like, don't like, desire, lust, fiend, etc. We take every step to fulfill the needs we set for ourselves because we know what we want.  For example, a construction worker is somebody who longs for manual labor, the character benefits, the health benefits, or whatever comes with the job. They go to the job site everyday to build upon something within them. Yet, how can this be considered a lifestyle?

It is considered a lifestyle because of the side effects which come from manual labor. According to the Watchtower Online Library, manual labor trains you for life, it builds character, it teaches you how to learn, and it is a sacred service written in the Bible. So the man or woman who goes to the job site isn't only doing the work for the money, but because of the lifestyle it molds.

Same thing can go for somebody who is the complete opposite, like an accountant. They wake up everyday to sit at a desk and work with numbers and money. What comes from that job could be the intellectual improvement, learning to be organized, and so on and so forth. But those qualities squeeze themselves into their life outside of the job and that is what they become. Those qualities become part of their lifestyle.

So how would you label your lifestyle? What qualities do you gain from doing what you love to do? What kind of sequence do your days consist of? Think about these questions hard because the answers to these questions are the answers to who you are. These answers describe you and what your identity entails. Have fun on your journey!:)

Portlandia Review

You like hipster culture? You like weird? You like...disturbing? Well if you like one or all three, Portlandia is the show for you! I've been watching this show recently and although its so confusing at first but if you look past the weirdness, its a really interesting and well thought out piece of work.

Portlandia is a satiric sketch comedy starring Fred Armisen from Saturday Night Live and Carrie Brownstein who is lead guitarist and singer from the band Wild Flag. The show consists of sketches in areas in or around Portland, Oregon which fit perfectly into the genre of satire based comedy. The characters in each sketch exchange ironic dialogue which will throw off many watchers because you don't know what they will say next. However, each word is meant to attack some contemporary theme and when you pay very close attention, each sketch meshes into one another.

But the key note for each sketch is what they are trying to ridicule. Each sketch has a central theme and the dialogue between the characters in each sketch ends up making fun of the central theme. For example, one popular sketch Fred and Carrie perform is when they are in a store called Women and Women First. The store is a feminist bookstore where Fred and Carrie play as Tony and Candace, two women who are true to their feministic idealism. What Fred and Carrie do best in this sketch is truly stick to the feminist rendition towards outside characters who may go against their characters ideals.

For example in the first episode of season 2 "Mixologist", an AC repair man comes to fix the air conditioning unit in the store. Even though he's asking questions which pertain to his work, Tony and Candace constantly go at him about saying things which go against their ideals on how women should be treated, called, so on and so forth. However, you never know what they are going to say next because Fred and Carrie constantly switch up the tones in their characters.

Overall, Portlandia is becoming a popular show for those who love ironic comedy and has many people talking about it. It airs on the independent film channel, or IFC, and returns to air January 4 at 10pm. So if you're interested in watching new age sketch comedy, watch Portlandia!
