Countless
numbers of people have their own perspectives on where we came from. The
largest group of people support the claim that we are the image of God. We as
humans were made in his image. Others claim that we have revolutionized over
millions of years through adaptation and natural selection. No matter the
argument, humans are imperfect and there is nothing we can do to change that
fact. Although, there are workarounds which us to our topic of
discussion.
One
workaround, which was stated by a close friend of mine, is striving to be
"great" instead of aiming for "perfection." The word great
has been tossed around by many of the most successful individuals in the world.
Each and every one of them use the word great in many of their speeches because
of what the word great actually means to them. To those people, great may be a booster
word to jump start their day. Or it can be what inspires them to change an
aspect of themselves to achieve a higher level of "greatness."
What
is strongly suggested is that they did not instantly gain success because of
reaching for a level of perfection. Instead, they focused on dividing their
ultimate goal into sub-levels, like a ladder. Each rung is an individual goal
which will help you push your way to the top where your ultimate goal is set.
Following
such a method will not only place you in a great opportunity on each rung, but
will boost your confidence, self-esteem, and give you the spark to meet your
expectations. We aren't perfect, so try not to expect yourself to be. It is our
imperfections which makes us perfect.
