A New Year Awaits

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE EVERYBODY! Today is a fantastic day because it is the last day of the year 2012! This has been one of the most historic and eventful years yet.

We as a people have pushed the boundaries yet again in culture, technology, and human ingenuity. Our creativity has skyrocketed in so many remarkable ways either locally, nationally, or internationally. The uses of the world wide web and the use of social media have connected everybody together to display a symbol of togetherness. The use of the Internet has allowed us to interact and connect from anybody from around the world. Movements and stories have been unraveled because the Internet allows us to share anything with the world!

Huffington Post's Year in Review Article

Some of the greatest ideas were able to be sent across the globe for people to work together on the most critical of issues and create the most stunning of spectacles. The world, in general, has really begun to come together so we can live out our days peacefully on our big blue planet. We all don't live forever, but I know that going into the new year is going to be great year for change and mainly improvement.

Innovation is what drives our creativity and aspirations to continue living to the fullest. We have created almost every kind of way to improve lives, whether it is medically, spiritually, and physically. However, we've only touched the surface of what we are capable of. What divides us from the rest of the animal kingdom is two things: free will and drive for survival. Everything is based off of the idea of being able to go forward comfortably and what's best for us.

Nobody knows you better than you do. You know what you need to be able to do and what your limits are. We are always subject to change and improvement. So look back into your past memories of the year 2012 and think of innovative new ways you can improve your life to make it better and better. You can either improve your character, your health, your mind, your relationships, your talents, anything you want.

So enjoy your last day of the year with the ones you love to be around and celebrate another year of amazing feats from you and the world! Party till your hearts content! Happy New Years!

Can't Emphasize This Enough

Good morning and happy end of the world to you all!! Today is a wonderful day because today is the day we find out whether or not the human race survives or goes through a huge change of pace! Well what ever happens today, know that everything that you have put out into the world will come back to you at some point.

I probably discussed this topic already in some of my previous posts but its also something which I always see everyday. I observe it from teenagers to senior citizens, I witness what they put out into the world and think to myself, "Wow... they're going to get a slap on the back of the head soon." What ever kind of energy that you place into the endless energy stream of the universe, will circle back onto you.

Let us look at why everything you put out into the universe comes back to you. Think of nature in general. Everything in nature runs as a cycle. It has a start, an end, and then it repeats the cycle all over again. The seasons, plants, the weather, even the stock market! They all run in cycles. So why wouldn't energies run in cycles?

Exactly! They run in a cycle so you're the point, the energy takes  a journey out into the world/universe, and brings back what you put out! So always be conscientious about what energy, what action, or what words you put into the universe. It is always something to think about and will greatly help your life out as long as you know what you need to focus on!

So here are three easy steps you can take to make sure nothing but positive energies revolve back to make your life better:

  1. Keep calm with deep breathes to clear your mind
  2. Focus on nothing but positive thoughts. Whatever they may be
  3. Transmit nothing but positive energy to other people
Have a great end of the world day everyone! Stay safe, and remember the steps!

Just So You Know

Hey everybody! It's less than an hour from midnight here on the East coast before December 21st, a day long awaited for since the prediction was found by Dr. Jose Arguelles who wrote the book Mayan Factor which was published in 1987. This was the book which started the worldwide phenomenon claiming the world will end tomorrow. Now exactly what might happen tomorrow is still under heavy speculation but its been waived off as a huge rumor and tomorrow will be a regular day.

Which makes me think about the time differences. Its not twelve yet but its the next day on the other side of the world. So shouldn't something had have happened already? So doesn't it seem kind of odd for all the predictions that were made not one has been revealed yet. But you never know, the universe and the world are unpredictable and anything could happen anytime or anywhere.

So what should we do even though we won't know exactly what will happen tomorrow? Do what you feel you need to do... whether or not something really happens, just do what you think you need to do with your life. Live the day and night doing what you normally like to do, be calm, and prosper.

There is a lot of information out there that you could read to understand exactly whats going to happen, what might happen, why it won't happen, all the information you need. If you would like to know more, here is a link to ABC news who kept up to date on world news.

What I can tell you? So far so good! Have  a great night all who await the sun and have a great day those who are living your day!

Word of the Day Ft. RonJacob

How's everybody doing today? I hope your day has been wonderful so far! I would like to introduce RonJacob from Socialcam with his word of the day for y'all! Enjoy!

To Shoot or Not to Shoot - That is the Question

Good morning everyone!  So the topic of today is the major controversial issue of gun control. Gun control has been a topic of debate for some time now, however due to the recent event in Connecticut, it has been fully ignited and taken into serious consideration.

Earlier this morning I was listening to the radio and Reverend Al Sharpton spoke on behalf of the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary. He said he was completely moved by not the tragedy, but the individuals who were taken. Twenty children were taken from their families because a man had access to assault weapons and wasn't treated thoroughly for a mental illness which might have initiated the attack.

However, what he mainly focused on while on the radio was our culture and how violence is deeply rooted into our psyche. We see it all the time in movies, commercials, on the radio, etc. Unfortunately, attempting to take violence out of our culture will be a treacherous road. Even though the nation knows about the event, many people are still going to side with assault weapons and high capacity magazines to be allowed in the hands of normal citizens.

For example, there has also been an incident yesterday regarding an 11 year old bring an unloaded gun to school for defense. In my book, that is not bueno. Children should not feel the need to carry guns for their own protection. The thought of using excessive violence to solve problems and defense should not be clouding the minds of our children. Full story can be found here.

Larry Hyatt, owner of the largest privately owned gun business in the country made a statement for the Huffington Post regarding assault weapon bans. He stated that even if we make a nationwide ban, it wouldn't solve our issues. I agree with him because there are many, many different ways of massively killing people as he mentioned in the video above. Laws on just banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines will not completely solve our problems. It is only part of the solution.

So what do we need to do? As Al Sharpton said this morning, do NOT buy toy guns for your kids. Do NOT let them be consumed by violence on television and movies. Monitor your children's behavior because they are the one's who take culture to their heart and soul and mix it in with their rights and wrongs. If they feel the need that violence is the only solution for defense and survival, teach them differently.

Thank You for Inspiring Me!

Good morning fellow blog readers! Today is such a beautiful day and I would like to take the time to thank every one of you who has read my blog! The blog has reached over a thousand views in the short time of only two weeks! And it that accomplishment would NEVER had happened if you all didn't take the time out of your busy lives to read what I have to say!

Every time I see a new page view for my blog it fills my heart with so much joy. It shows me that you all care about what I have to say as well. It also gives me the inspiration to keep writing posts everyday because I know at least one person is out there willing to read them. And that one person is all I sometimes ever truly need to keep my fingers going back and forth on this keyboard!

However, many people in this world are left silent because they feel as if nobody has the time to listen to what they have to say. Well, because all of you who has read my blog has had the time to read and understand what I have to say, I want you to go out into the world and do the same for everybody you encounter.

Listen to their stories, listen to their struggles, and understand what they are saying in your heart. In turn, somebody will listen to what you have to say when you want to express something which you can't keep to yourself! What goes around comes around is what I always say!

So once again I want to thank all of you for being the best readers and if any of you have anything you want to talk to me about, I am completely ALL ears! I love listening to others, learning their experiences, and taking what they went through in regard to my own life. It helps get me thinking outside of the box and helps me with multiple issues in my life as well! So get in contact with me however you can and I will take the time out of my life to listen. That is a promise!

Have a wonderful day!!<3 span="span">

The Steps to Realization

Hey everybody! This particular blog post is something I've been meaning to get off my chest for a long time and knowing that I have to live day to day without people understanding what I've gone through is heart wrenching. The reason for my being, the reason for the way I think is all from my life of being bullied.

It all started in middle school where everybody started to change and begin the process of maturity. I guess I didn't fit in well with everybody else changing and I was being teased about my eyebrows which in fact was the biggest thing I was bullied about from then to now. It was always about me cutting them, trimming them up, all the crap about making sure they weren't so thick. I tried to brush it off for the most part but it would get to me...a lot. I actually did trim them and touch em up because I felt that I would be liked more if I did. Well I was liked more, but I also wasn't happy.

I felt that I was in a hole, constantly trying to get out and meet up with everybody else... but the hole kept getting deeper. I kept burying myself deeper and deeper into the hole through the many attempts of trying to change myself for the better of other people. Years after however I learned to be content with my eyebrows and they are thick and I am proud to have them on my face. However, they weren't the only things I was bullied about.

If you could guess by the picture, I was constantly and still am being labeled as an Oreo black man. I apparently am, simply put, a white person with black skin color. This has been the biggest thing which affected my outlook of life, my outlook of people, and the outlook of myself. At first I thought I had the strength to fight off the attacks but it subconsciously sank into my psyche and I started to have identity issues.

I started to lose my sense of self because I didn't know whether or not I would be labeled with white people or black people. I constantly kept switching back and forth from trying to act like a black person and acting like a white person to satisfy other people.... without first satisfying myself. I would listen to only "black" music... I would wear baggy clothes... I would try to speak with slang... hated it. Then I would speak with proper english... listen to "white" music... wear clothes like white person... hated it.

Every trend I followed I kept losing who I was and kept trying to fit in because I felt as if nobody liked me for who I was... so... I started to not like me for who I was. My actions, my voice, my body, my face, my everything... I didn't like. I let the voices of the outside world speak as my inner voice. I wasn't even able to recognize my own voice because I kept having other peoples voices speak for my own.

The worst thing though... was even though I saw myself in the mirror everyday... I couldn't mentally picture my own face. For the longest time, I didn't even know what my face looked like when I tried to picture it in my mind. It was always the face of someone else... someone that I tried to be... someone who I wished I was... and I was depressed because I couldn't be that person when I tried my absolute hardest.

It was as if I kept putting on different masks... different personalities... different identities... that I completely lost sight of my own. It was torturous, heart wrenching, soul crushing. I would spend nights constantly battling something in my mind... something which I couldn't figure out. It was emotionally exhausting.

I would write notes to myself in a diary... explaining the trauma I was experiencing as I entered into college. College... where the trouble truly started to unfold. To sum it up, instead of nights battling, it was nights of tearing. Nights of yelling into my pillow... trying to find who I was. It sucked. It sucked hard.

But salvation came to me one day. Salvation which completely turned my life around and salvation which I will never, ever forget. It was salvation through God who spoke to me through someone whom I hold dearer than anything else. My mother. She gave me the most inspirational, most heart warming talk and honest to God, it turned my life around. She is who is making me the successful man writing this post. She is who put wings on my back to allow me to fly out of that hole.

She inspired me to look at what I have, to look deep within myself to look at what I also have on the inside. To understand that I won't be everybody's best friend. To understand I won't have the endless talents other have, the flashy skills that others have, and to be completely content with it because I do have talents that others don't have. I have a mother like no other. And I have God who constantly is helping me find who I am.

So the overall message? Well... I guess it would have to be this: Stop Bullying and think about the lasting harm you're putting onto others. Think about what they have to go through every night knowing people hate them. I did. I did for the longest time. It's not a fun trip. So stop the teasing. Stop trying to change them. Stop saying they're something that they're not. Because they are somebody. They are somebody because God made them. God made them for a reason and they deserve to know that reason is for something special.

I hope reading this will help you understand the effects of bullying. Think about it and apply it to your life. Have a wonderful evening.

Love for Certain Work

Here is a poem written by 13th century Persian Poet Rumi and was translated by Coleman Barks.

I wish to share this poem with you all because my English professor Alisha Barry gave us this poem to compare it to the rest of our college careers. Everybody has a unique talent and love for what they do. So finding that work that compels you to move forward is like finding love. Because love is something everybody needs in order to truly live.

Love for Certain Work
Rumi

Traveling is as refreshing for some
as staying at home is for others.

Solitude in a mountain place
fills with companionship for this one,
and weariness for that one.

This person loves being in charge
of the workings of a community.

This other one lives the ways
heated iron can be shaped with a hammer.

Each has been given a strong desire
for certain work, a love for those motions,
and all motion is love.

The way sticks and pieces of dead grass and leaves
shift about in the wind
and with the directions of rain and puddle-water
on the ground, those motions
are all following the love
they have been given.

Blood is Thicker than Water

The Rents

All human beings, except ones made in labs(sorry), all come from two people, a mother and a father. Our birth givers,  our caretakers, and our first teachers. We are who we are because we built a foundation off of what our parents taught us. Even if that foundation was built by a tough relationship, it is still what makes you who you are.

But unfortunately, not all human beings are able to fully grow with their mother and father in their lives. Many children go through divorce, unexpected separation, and even death of their parents to live their rest of their lives on their own or with one parent. It is a sad reality but its a reality which we have to accept. So next time you say you hate your parents, or you never want to speak to them again, think about what they do for you.

First and most importantly, they let you live. They let you be able to breathe, to be able to see, to be able to do any of the things you have done in your life because many parents, unfortunately, get abortions, or kill their unborn babies through third party means. So really think about that. Think about you not being born.

Secondly, they feed you, bath you, give you access to water, put a roof over your head, and put clothes on your back. Even if they've only done this for a short period in your life, they still did when you were a child. They had to deal with the thick and  thin of your childhood and they did that out of love, compassion, and understanding of you.

Lastly, they teach you what you need to know to live in this world. It may not start off as so, but they teach you based off of their life experiences. They teach you right from wrong. They teach you how to treat people. They teach you that life is rough and you must always find a way. They teach you everything you will need to know to survive in this world.

The sad thing is, some children who grow into into their adult years don't realize these lessons until its too late to say thank you. They wait until the day their parents are completely out of their life to finally say thank you for all their parents have done for them. So you know what you should do?

THANK THEM! You don't have to thank them everyday, (it'd be great if you did), but thank them every so often as a reminder to them and yourself on how much they really mean to you and how much you mean to them. Your parents will not always be there and that is for certain. So make their time on this planet worthwhile with the love from their children.

Always Take the Time for a Time Out

Good morning everybody! Today is a very beautiful Sunday and the beginning of a very grand week! What I love about Sundays are what you're able to do on a Sunday... can you guess? That's right! Sleep! Everybody loves to have a time to rest and rejuvenate their bodies after a long week so they have the energy for the new week! But why is sleep so important?

Well, sleep is a natural activity for almost all species because of the healing powers that it possesses! With sleep, your body is using less processes and allows your cells to regain strength. When you're awake, you're using constant energy for your basic functions to keep operating. However, when you're asleep, your brain flips that slow down switch for your organs, glands, and everything else to take a rest and rejuvenate!

Studies have shown that your body has everything it needs to fight off and heal any problems which occur in your body. So when your body is less active, it initializes those little fixers in your body to do their jobs and fix you up for the next day!

It also is a psychological need which is super important if you don't want to end up in the mad house! Like, have you ever had one of those days where you want to kick a kitten? Well I know I haven't, if you have... then I don't know what to tell you other than GET SOME SLEEP! Sleep releases tensions and relaxes the mind so it is critically important for you and the kitten!

"Regular sleep is important. Sleep has restorative power and evidence shows that sleep enhances memory and improves attention." (The Teenage Mind

So all you party people who love to stay up late and then end up lousy in the morning; put down your drinks, kick up your feet and take a long nap! Enjoy your Sunday and the rest of your week!

Dance Used for Cultural Identity

Good afternoon everybody! Today I finished my research paper for English class and want to give you all a little preview of what I wrote!

Dance is something which is universally seen as a fun activity used to blow off steam, connect with other, or anything else which will satisfy the dancer. However, it has been seen for retaining cultural identity against those who wish to oppress cultures, or assimilate cultural entities.

Here is an exerpt from my paper which will hopefully give you some insight to what dance really means to people:

"However, just like the Native Indians in America, dance has been seen as an important social aspect in the lives of these other cultures for remembering their cultural identity. ”Cultural dances are so precious to many civilizations, as they often contain pieces of their history and livelihood that would otherwise be lost" (Warta Webpage). Therefore, retaining cultural identity by dance is a very powerful tool which is seen around the world to fight against oppressive forces which attempt to assimilate cultural history."

Dance is a very powerful tool and the meaning behind many dances are filled with important context which is hidden to outsiders. So next time you're out watching a cultural dance, think about the true meanings in each motion, each facial expression, and the music behind it.

Love is All We Need

Good afternoon everybody. I want to take a break from the normal posts and give a moment to the victims of the recent shooting in Newton, Connecticut. This shooting has been one of the most massive shootings we've had occur in the country, but this one truly stood out.

America has been ravaged by shootings for the past century by people who have been strayed away from the right path. They slaughter multiple innocent lives for motives which weren't righteously made. The impacts of each shooting is devastating to not only the victims and the local area, but for the nation. We live in America for opportunity, success, and lively living, but how are we supposed to fulfill those desires when we're too scared of taking a step out of the house?

President Obama grieved and struggled through tears
while giving his speech concerning the shooting.
Luke Sharrett for the New York Times
It is a heavy act, a shooting that is. However, the recent shooting is what truly left our hearts broken. 28 total people were taken by the hands of the corrupt man who then killed himself. Yet, the devastation isn't the total amount of people, but the total amount of children who were viciously taken from this world. Children who were our future. Children who hasn't even touched one percent of life's experiences. Children who had goals, dreams, aspirations, ambitions. Children who were going to raise their own children one day.

“We’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics,” Mr. Obama said. The president, a proud parent himself, was truly feeling the pain of every parent in the nation. So what must we do to prevent tragedies like this from happening? We must focus on what might initiate someone to wanted to murder people.

We know they are already studying issues like this, but its time to take that knowledge into our own hands. We are affected as much as the researchers are and we need to know what we can do to stop somebody because that somebody could be your own neighbor!

So what can we do? Always take the time to listen to somebody. People like to be appreciated for what they have and intensive listening to people can go a long way. Always present positive energies to everyone you meet. Being negative, rude, and downright nasty only breeds more negative energy. It spreads fast and we want positive energies to flow fast from person to person.

All in all, what we must accomplish, is to learn to love everybody and everything. Love is what brings us together, love is what keeps us together, and spreading love together is what will prevent any more of these massive killings from happening in the future. Dissipate the hate.

Making Smart Decisions

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are doing well and are prepared for the many challenges which await you around the corner. However, there are ways to avoid difficult confrontations which will lead you to a very smooth day. One particular way that would probably seem obvious is to make smart decisions. We make decisions every moment of our lives. Whether or not to get coffee in the morning, to use a pen or pencil, to take a step forward... everything needs to be chosen for anything to happen.

With that being said, what kind of decisions do you think might put you on the map to success today? Think about everything that you might do today and all the choices that you will have to make. Ponder on the results of these choices and really focus on whether or not you'll be content with making those decisions.

Although, not everything goes as planned and we have to learn how to make even smarter decisions. One effective way of doing so is to take a step back, look at the whole picture, and trace out every opportunity you can see to making that smart decision which will move you forward dramatically. It may be tough at first to look at the whole picture, but it has definitely proven its worthiness on multiple occasions for me.

Just always remember that when making these decisions is to always have a clear head. One way is to take deep, slow breaths; allow oxygen to fully refresh your brain and you'll feel calm. Another is to find something funny and use that to help clear your mind. I have a post which details just that. Lastly, simply look up methods which help calm you down. The internet provides many pages to helping you clear your head. Why? Because everybody needs to be able to have a clear mind. Only than will smarter decisions be made and your day will become brighter and smoother!

Finding What Makes You Smile

You know what the best thing in life is? See the clown to the right? He knows what the best thing in life is. Smiles! Simply put, they are muscular flexes performed when anything triggers pleasure. Us humans, we love to feel pleasure. We love to feel the rush which makes us happy. When we are happy, we think clearly. So, what makes you happy? I can't necessarily dictate what makes anybody generally happy, but that's the journey.

What makes you smile is what you find which makes  you the happiest. Whether or not its a movie, a joke, a face, or even Happy the Clown here! Anything can be used to make somebody happy and that is what makes the world a beautiful place.

Me? I love to smile! Smiling makes me happy and it makes my view of the world into a positive place! I've noticed that people who don't like to smile are usually grumpy, closed in folk who see the world as a dark place. Yes the world isn't sugarcoated with gumdrops and teddy bears but there will always be beauty underneath it all; and finding that beauty can be lead by smiles.

Have you ever noticed that when you take a deep breath and smile, everything seems to make sense? Everything is clearer to understand and the world seems to be... brighter? That is because when you're happy, you're calm; and when you're calm, your brain has room to process everything smoothly. Now doesn't that sound wonderful?

So what should you do? Whenever you're feeling down, tired, depressed, sad, angered... take a deep breath, close your eyes, think of something which you always find funny, and smile. SMILE BIG! Clear your mind with positive thoughts and  I promise your day will be so much brighter!

The Grass Isn't Always Greener on the Other Side

Have you always wondered what it would be like to be in somebody else's life? To be as successful as them? To be as popular as them? To be as smart as them? Of course you have because we all think that way at some point in our lives. Its part of building our identity among the rest of the 6 billion people living on this planet. But one thing which you need to take into consideration is this: those people in which we envy...their life isn't perfect either. They go through their struggles, their hardships, their punishments, their consequences. However, what you may notice is something which most people don't know how to do, which is making the best of what you have.

The people who always seem to have a smile on their face are completely content with what they have no matter what. They understand that they may not have all the talent, all the smarts, all the athletic ability. But they understand that what they have is who they are and they are content with themselves. All of us are blessed with certain qualities that differentiate us from everybody else. Either we're artists, musicians, laborers, writers, readers, skateboarders, basketball players, or what ever. Each and every one of us is good at some thing. But the challenge is knowing what exactly you're good at, and honing in on that.

I for example have been going through a struggle of trying to find what I'm good at because I felt as if I were talent-less.  I looked at other people who I thought were perfect because they were so good at everything that they did no matter what it was. So I was doing a lot of searching around and experimenting to try and discover what I was good at which would astound everybody! But sadly, no results revealed themselves to me. However, I realized something very important. The discovery I made was this: Who cares? These words were what changed my life around. Why? Because what I found out is this...no matter who you are or what skill you have, its for you and you alone to enjoy. Having other people impressed is just a side effect of you enjoying what you are naturally good at.

So I started looking at those people differently. I started to make a list of what I was good at, went through the list comparing me to them on that particular skill. I found out that I was better than them at most of the things on the list. I'm not trying to sound arrogant or anything. However, understanding what I do best is understanding that what was given to me as a gift is for me to enjoy. That realization is what got me to actually start writing my blog. I've always had a gift for writing and I love every post that I write or essay that I write because I feel a deep sense of accomplishment.

So what should you do to get over that feeling of envy for other people? Make a list. Make a deep list of all the things that you know for a fact that you're good at, like doing, and focus on those things ONLY! No more worrying about finding what you're good at because you may never find it unless you look into YOURSELF! You are the key to making it to the other side of the fence. The fence which you have to cross is doubt. Hop over that fence and you will find the greenest grass imaginable!

The Law of Attraction

Meteor Shower Tonight between Dusk to Dawn!
Good Morning everyone!! It is a wonderful day and I hope you all have everything go as intended!

I wish to speak to you this morning on the topic of something called, "The Law of Attraction." This particular, spiritual law has been a controversial topic for some time due to its amazing results! I for  example have had incredible results because I focused on this law! What exactly is the Law of Attraction you may ask? Well the answer is very simple.

It was discovered in medieval times as the universal genie. In other words, what you ask for, is what you will get. The Law of Attraction is the phrase, "like attracts like." Basically, what you like, what you feel, what you think, is what you're going to attract in the universe. Your mind gives off vibrations, shoot, everybody's minds give off vibrations! So if you ever wondered why you met a certain person, its because at some point, you sent off vibrations which attracted the same vibrations they gave off so you two were bound to meet. Or, you know someone who is always positive and everything seems to go their way? Well, it is because their positive energies are attracting other positive energies to them! it works the same for negative people as well. As you give off negative energy, all you will get is negative results.

This law also doesn't just work with people and energies, it always works with material things as well. What ever you may need, you will get. What ever you may want, money, car, new house, new toy, video game, all you need to focus on are these three words:  Ask, Believe, and Receive.  Ask the universe with thoughts of what you desire,  believe that you will get it,  or act as if you already have it,  and the universe will provide. However, the downside, (which really isn't a downside), is patience. Patience is a key factor with this law because you don't know when the universe will deliver. It may take months, or even years to get the results that you want, but don't let that bring your hopefulness down!

The law is rather tricky though because multiple studies have been conducted without clear, cut accuracy. Some of the participants claimed the law works "sometimes" while others say it never worked. If you wanna know, from me, it has worked at least 85% of the time. I'm not going to go into great detail, but from a truly honest mouth, this law has provided me with multiple wishes and multiple thoughts which I thought were only thoughts suddenly came into fruition. So I'm not saying that you can get every single wish that you may desire, but you'd be surprised that with an open mind, patience, and following the three important words, you'll get what you want.

The best thing is, all you have to do, is think it, and the universe will do all the work.
Here is a book that I've read which details the law and strategies you can take to make it happen for you! It is an excellent read and very worthwhile if you want to give it a shot! Click the picture for the link for the Amazon page!

Quality of Life

I came upon this concept while browsing on Wikipedia and I thought it was pretty interesting thing to dive into. We all heard about the standard of living which is the measurement of what you need to be able to live a comfortable life under your income and societal demands. However, not everything can be measured by income, which is what brings Quality of Life into the picture.

So what would classify the quality of life?

The quality of life by Dictionary.com definition is your personal satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) with the cultural or intellectual conditions under which you live (as distinct from material comfort).
So is your income cultural or intellectual? No. Your car? No. Your House? No. Your quality of life is your individual well-being which does have a wide range of contexts such as freedom, human rights, and happiness. However, its very tough to consider what qualitative factor dictates those particular contexts.

Although it may be tough, look at what really makes life so grand. After you look at the big picture, look for the little blocks which make up the picture. Nothing big ever happens unless you have taken smaller steps. Learn to appreciate the little things which go on in your life during your day to day activities. Think of the qualities which make up the big things you do and appreciate those things to the fullest.

That is what I find to be the Quality of Life. While I am seeking to do big things with my life, I also sit back and remind myself of the little things, or the things which make up the quality of my actions. That is what I wish for my readers to do as well. Look for the little things which make your life grand and appreciate everything!

Forgive Not For Their Sake, But For Your Wellbeing

Good afternoon everybody! Today is showing to be a little muggy in Jersey but its all gravy! The topic of today however is a special one, definitely something to really think about!

It never really occurred to me to write a post about something such as forgiveness because I honestly never had to truly forgive somebody for doing me wrong. I'm not saying I have a perfect life without struggles with people, but I've never been in a situation where forgiveness was something to fully focus on...but I'll take a swing at it!

Forgiveness to me is the act of dismaying a wrong which someone has placed upon you, someone your close to, or any other third thing. Here is Googles definition. However, whatever way they define it, the strength that I can imagine someone needing to forgive someone who did an absolute wrong is incredible.

But to put it in simple terms, let's use the two words: letting go. Many people don't know how to let go and that is what is crucial to forgiving another person. People can be ruthless, merciless, and downright nasty. So being able to let go of an action which brought an emotional meteor crashing onto your personal planet takes an incredible amount of inner strength. However, how might you feel if you were able to let go?

Think for a minute. Think about all the mental processes you're taking out of your day to think about how much you loathe somebody. Think about what you could be thinking about which will make your day more productive. Think about the stress you're enduring while the other person is living their life with possible ease.
Its a tough thing to do to forgive somebody...but its the better thing to do. You'll be able to move on with your life with simplicity, less hate in your heart, less stress on your mind, and knowing that they are the ones who will have to live day to day with a pit in their stomach. Build up that inner strength and do what you know is right!

Try Out New Things

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Have you ever wondered why most of the new things you try won't simply work? Yet, you go and attempt the same thing somewhere else, in a new place and suddenly BAM, it works? That is because you have fallen into the power of getting out of your comfort zone!

Your comfort zone, simply put, is an area where you find yourself most comfortable. For example, I am a football player and I constantly train at my home gym. I know everything there is to know about the gym and I find myself doing my best. However, when I try new training methods or whatever, it is a really slow process. So my coach advises me to train at another gym with other trainers. I feel very uneasy at this suggestion because I don't know how the other trainer operates the gym and I don't know his regiment style. Yet, when I go over to the other gym to train, I find his style very easy and worthwhile. Why? Because I'm receiving new methods of training and my learning processes grow exponentially!

Staying in your comfort zone can only get you so far. You can always still thrive in it, but it is necessary to engage yourself outside of it because you won't be getting any new sources of information as long as you refuse the outside sources. It is a perfectly natural process to get out of your comfort zone to learn new things. Here is a link to a FORBES article about someone stepping out of their comfort zone, engaging themselves in unfamiliarity, and achieving what they might not have achieved before.

So remember, step out of the old, and take in the new!

Word for the Weekend!

Good afternoon everybody! It is a delightful weekend ripened with opportunity! I want to introduce the word for the weekend which I want you to focus deeply on. The word is mindful. Being mindful is looking past your thoughts and seeing everything for what it really is. Jon Kabat-Zinn claims,

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way;

On purpose,

in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.”

So simply put, being mindful is focusing on everything without the garble of your mind's voice screaming in your ears to judge what you see. You see all objects and people just they way they are. I find being mindful truly amazing because the beauty in everything is clearly seen. I'm not clouding my mind with doubts, skepticism, or foreshadows. I see all things with simplicity and it truly proves that the world is a genuinely beautiful place. However, it can be rough to see things like that, so here are some easy steps to achieving mindfulness.

How to be mindful:
 1.       Take a deep breath and relax your mind.
2.       Let your thoughts flow out and start to focus on every bit of detail meshed into one thing
3. Lastly, feel what you see

Three easy steps to seeing the world in a new, more beautiful perspective.

Breakfast Stitch

HMMMM, breakfast time! Now doesn't the picture look so good?! One of the most fundamental moments in the average person's daily routine! Not only does breakfast settle the hunger which brewed inside of you from your (hopefully) 7-8 hours of sleep, it also provides you with the energy which will carry throughout the rest of the day! It rejuvenates your mind, revitalises your body, and in some instances....frees your soul!!! So always remember, BREAK the fast, and get into the fast line with your day!!

Empathy Stitch

The Best Paper and Pen

Everybody goes through problems and struggles now and then. Some are able to control their outcome through crystal clear thinking, while others are lost in the sauce. One technique I know which helps you get out of the sauce is by writing down the problem, writing down any solutions which might fix it, and take it step by step. However, I recently started to understand a better solution.

The best technique I know which can help solve almost any problem, is by talking to somebody. Let them be your confidence. Let their minds be your paper, and their ears be your pen. Talking to somebody that you truly rely on opens up a new world of solutions because of what they give in return, empathy.

Empathy is the ability to feel for someone else. To be able to understand one another on the emotional level. Talking to someone who can understand how you truly feel allows you to express more information  because they urge you to look even deeper to find your solutions. Looking within yourself for answers definitely finds solutions, however, fusing that technique with talking to somebody else increases your chance for a solution 10 fold!

All in all, whether or not you're the one having the issue or not, volunteer your time to listen to somebody. Take the time to understand how they feel and how you might really feel in their shoes. Not only does it find solutions, but it builds stronger relationships and tighter bonds.

Step Up Stitch

STEP IT UP

So I've looked up this ongoing debate on whether or not a guy should make the first move or the girl should. Well...it has been primary tradition for the male of any species to court the female. It shows the female that the male is secure in his masculinity, and has  confidence in himself. However, I've read and heard from a lot of men claiming that since women are trying to bring themselves to the level of men; that they should be the ones to confront a man.

So if you asked me on who should do what, I say fellas, STEP UP YOUR GAME! For centuries men have been the ones to confront the woman because it proves to her that you can be a man about what you want. We as men are supposed to be bursting with confidence, filled with masculinity, and not let anything stop us from getting what we desire.

So guys, if you want that cute blonde or sexy brunette, go up to her and do what you feel is the right thing to do. Trust me, even if you fail, the simple gesture of confronting her will prove that you have confidence in yourself...and THAT is what women fall for.

Good luck!
