I'm Back Where I Belong
Hey everybody! I know I have been away for awhile and I honestly have no other excuses other than I was too lazy to sit down and write. During that time though, I thought up of so many ideas and thoughts which I wanted to write down so badly but, like I said, the lazy bug stuck with me for weeks. However, fortunately, I'm back into my rhythm. I found again what made me love writing. Why do I love writing? I love writing because it allows me to be who I am without worrying so much about other people's thoughts running through my head. That I think is the true meaning of this post, to find where I belong.
I might have mentioned this in one of my previous posts, but I ran into a roadblock of compromising my identity. Meaning: you know that little voice that runs around in your head, a.k.a your subconscious? Well, most folk say their subconscious voice is their own voice. For a time, the voice which symbolized my subconscious always seemed the be the voice of another person. And this person was never consistent. It was always different.
Then, I started writing. Like magic, my thoughts became clear. I was able to see everything in a new perspective. As if the clouds of my thoughts swimming inside my head were blown away by every tap of the keyboard and every stroke of the pen. It is total bliss. I can easily say that it is a passion. Along with Martial Arts Tricking, I don't think I can go a day without writing anymore. It helps keep me as me and assures me that I don't need to do anything else other than what I normally do to be me and to find my own voice.
Now, what do I want you to learn from my experiences? Find your voice by following your passion(s). Passions are essential because it is what wakes you up in the morning, what gets your feet moving once you're out of bed, and what puts you to sleep at night. But in between those stages, everlasting memories are made. So look deep within yourself, find what makes you a unique individual, and live your life around it! Good luck!

This I Believe
I wrote this as part of my English class senior year of high school. It was part of the This I Believe campaign, stated on their website, which was started by "an international organization to engage people in writing and sharing essays describing the core values that guide their daily lives." So the goal was to write down what we morals we believed ran our lives on a day to day basis. This was mine.
Living as a
teenager in this hardcore and uptight world can amount to some serious issues.
Every day I must make a decision which will influence my life for years to come;
from deciding whether or not to have proper hygiene to setting up goals for my
future lifestyle. It wasn't until a special day when I realized how much
choices truly impacted my sense of self.
The special day came into fruition when I
learned my parents were no longer married and I had a major choice to make. I
had to put all the facts on a plate and tally out what would be best for me and
my interests. When the day came, my decision was thoroughly thoughtful and
true. I laid out all the pros and cons until the pros outweighed the cons. In
turn, the decision I made led to the fantastic life in which I am currently
living. Still, even to this very moment I never stop wondering what my life
would be if I made the other choice. However, it helped me realize that everything
I run into will be the same. Every decision I make will either grant me many
rewards and benefits; or grant me suffering, regret and doubt.
In other
words I believe that every decision, either if it's me or another person making
it, should be executed with absolute confidence after careful planning. Witnessing
the turmoil of my parent's separation opened my eyes to this brand new
perspective. It granted me the understanding that whenever I make a choice, I
must lay out the pros and cons and come up with a strong conclusion which will
benefit me for years to come.
Sure, sometimes
the choices I make will influence other people's lives and I won't notice until
after; but I still understand the choice I made and I know that they will move
on as should I. I am human and the decisions I make will not always be perfect.
Nevertheless, I believe that the choices I have made benefited me incredibly
over the years and I appreciate everything aspect of my individual being and
what I gained from that special day because I believed in the confidence of my
decision.

Making Smart Decisions
With that being said, what kind of decisions do you think might put you on the map to success today? Think about everything that you might do today and all the choices that you will have to make. Ponder on the results of these choices and really focus on whether or not you'll be content with making those decisions.
Although, not everything goes as planned and we have to learn how to make even smarter decisions. One effective way of doing so is to take a step back, look at the whole picture, and trace out every opportunity you can see to making that smart decision which will move you forward dramatically. It may be tough at first to look at the whole picture, but it has definitely proven its worthiness on multiple occasions for me.
Just always remember that when making these decisions is to always have a clear head. One way is to take deep, slow breaths; allow oxygen to fully refresh your brain and you'll feel calm. Another is to find something funny and use that to help clear your mind. I have a post which details just that. Lastly, simply look up methods which help calm you down. The internet provides many pages to helping you clear your head. Why? Because everybody needs to be able to have a clear mind. Only than will smarter decisions be made and your day will become brighter and smoother!

Finding What Makes You Smile
You know what the best thing in life is? See the clown to the right? He knows what the best thing in life is. Smiles! Simply put, they are muscular flexes performed when anything triggers pleasure. Us humans, we love to feel pleasure. We love to feel the rush which makes us happy. When we are happy, we think clearly. So, what makes you happy? I can't necessarily dictate what makes anybody generally happy, but that's the journey.
What makes you smile is what you find which makes you the happiest. Whether or not its a movie, a joke, a face, or even Happy the Clown here! Anything can be used to make somebody happy and that is what makes the world a beautiful place.
Me? I love to smile! Smiling makes me happy and it makes my view of the world into a positive place! I've noticed that people who don't like to smile are usually grumpy, closed in folk who see the world as a dark place. Yes the world isn't sugarcoated with gumdrops and teddy bears but there will always be beauty underneath it all; and finding that beauty can be lead by smiles.
Have you ever noticed that when you take a deep breath and smile, everything seems to make sense? Everything is clearer to understand and the world seems to be... brighter? That is because when you're happy, you're calm; and when you're calm, your brain has room to process everything smoothly. Now doesn't that sound wonderful?
So what should you do? Whenever you're feeling down, tired, depressed, sad, angered... take a deep breath, close your eyes, think of something which you always find funny, and smile. SMILE BIG! Clear your mind with positive thoughts and I promise your day will be so much brighter!

Quality of Life

I came upon this concept while browsing on Wikipedia and I thought it was pretty interesting thing to dive into. We all heard about the standard of living which is the measurement of what you need to be able to live a comfortable life under your income and societal demands. However, not everything can be measured by income, which is what brings Quality of Life into the picture.
So what would classify the quality of life?
The quality of life by Dictionary.com definition is your personal satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) with the cultural or intellectual conditions under which you live (as distinct from material comfort).
So is your income cultural or intellectual? No. Your car? No. Your House? No. Your quality of life is your individual well-being which does have a wide range of contexts such as freedom, human rights, and happiness. However, its very tough to consider what qualitative factor dictates those particular contexts.
Although it may be tough, look at what really makes life so grand. After you look at the big picture, look for the little blocks which make up the picture. Nothing big ever happens unless you have taken smaller steps. Learn to appreciate the little things which go on in your life during your day to day activities. Think of the qualities which make up the big things you do and appreciate those things to the fullest.
That is what I find to be the Quality of Life. While I am seeking to do big things with my life, I also sit back and remind myself of the little things, or the things which make up the quality of my actions. That is what I wish for my readers to do as well. Look for the little things which make your life grand and appreciate everything!
