Acceptance Stitch

Acceptance is the True Gateway to Freedom

In life, in humanity, we are bound by the inevitability of mistakes. Mistakes can be described as the stepping stones of success. If you ask any successful person how they became successful, they will tell you that they have made plenty of mistakes along the way to know the secrets of success. If you read self-improvement books from Barnes and Nobles, Amazon, Ebay, or any other store, they will tell you that it all takes time and TRIAL AND ERROR to be able to perfect what you are trying to accomplish.

Lets look at an example: Gabby Douglas is now one of the most renowned individuals on the planet because of her accomplishments in the 2012 Olympics. Her routines were completely stunning to the eyes of millions and her facial expressions impeccable. BUT...this appearance of perfection didn't just happen overnight. According to her bio, she started tumbling around the age of 4 by her sister, and started gymnastics at 6. So for 10 years, she worked her butt off to be able to earn those gold medals around her neck. However, through those 10 years, she shed blood, sweat, and tears. She made mistakes over, and over, and over again to only get back up to try again. Even though she got up, she had to be able to do one important thing, ACCEPT the mistakes she made, learn from the mistakes to withhold any occurrences of the mistake in the future.

So when you think of all the successful people you know, think about what they might have done to get to where they are. Think about all the pain, all the agony, all the emotional turmoil that they might have had to go through when they made mistakes. But also think about how they moved on by accepting the reality of their mistakes. Only than were they able to keep moving forward stronger and better than ever before! So always keep in mind, we are human, we make mistakes, and we have the natural gift to learn. So use that gift, and you'll find yourself among the top as well!

Electro Stitch

So recently, I've been discovering that I have an intense passion for electronic music! Like, when I put on my Skullcandy(Toysrus) headphones, turn up the volume, and feel the bass reverberating in my ears; I feel like I'm drifting away to a land of cupcakes, unicorns, and unicorn eating cupcakes! Honestly, I don't think I can imagine anything else of the sort when listening to regular music. The way the synths, the reverbs, the bass, the midis...everything really starts to make sense in the world.

When I listen to most songs, I can't really grasp the lyrics and the meaning behind most songs. I know so many people that can listen to a vocally induced song once and instantly understand the true meaning behind what the artist is trying to say....I don't possess that ability. HOWEVER, I do possess the ability to really get into the feel of electronic music, the theme behind it, and any in between the cracks meaning.

I think what electronic music does for me is open a gateway into my imagination which no other form of music can do! I do everything so much better when I'm jamming out to Krewella, Kdrew, Feed Me, Deadmau5, Knife Party, etc. For example, when I'm doing my homework, I tend to think so clearer and more out of the box come to me. Its strange but I love it! Maybe you will too:D

Communication stitch

Throughout our days, we're bombarded with words to aim towards capital gains by means of public education, higher education, etc. However, experiencing my school days, I've never been formally introduced into what really matters, communication.

I am an IT technician during the day and my years working in this field have taught me that being able to communicate will get you even further than having that next big certification. Don't get me wrong, that certification will get  you somewhere, but if you don't know how to talk to your boss, administration, board, coworkers, colleagues, or anybody of importance, you might as well toss that piece of paper.

Being able to effectively communicate opens up many doorways, more doorways than your average Joe. Effectively communicating grants you the opportunity to push yourself forward without the need to put in extra work.

Recently I've read a book by Peter Murphy, a profound motivational enthusiast, called Always Know What to Say - Easy Ways to Approach and Talk to Anyone(found on Amazon). It details effective tips and tricks on starting a conversation, withholding a conversation, and ending the conversation with absolute confidence. I found this book to be really inspiring because it shows  the absolute importance of communication. I highly recommend you to head over to Amazon to download the free eBook.

All in all, communication is real and it's something we all need to matter. Ineffective communication is what equals conflict. Know how to speak to people effectively, lessen your risk for conflict.

Civic Engagement While Socially Conscious

This is going to be a rather interesting post because it was a request from a dearest friend of mine. Their name will remain anonymous, but the topic which was brought across is of great curiosity. The topic of course, is whether or not I find myself to be actively engaged in civic events while retaining my social consciousness during my present days.

Well, for those who don't know what either means, I'll give you a breakdown. Civic engagement is active participation in collecting individual or group actions to address a public issue. While the latter is the person's ability to be aware of everything that is happening around them.

So for example, I'm living in a rural community where issues which occur are very frequent. Meetings are always held between the town's people so they all understand what to fix in the present and what to expect in the past. So each individual which is involved in this town meeting would be placed at the highest extreme end of the spectrum, whilst their rival identity is  placed on the lower end. The lower end would consist of individuals who do not engage themselves with the rest of the town's peoples and does not care of the issues which might occur.

Taking all that into consideration, I would place myself on a scale of 1-10(low to high), as a 7. Being that certain circumstances impact my participation in my community, I wouldn't place myself as being actively involved. However, it does not mean I don't look here and there to catch up on some local news which might be of importance. I always take time to read a paper, look up newsletters, and I even get frequent emails regarding national issues. In a sense, I feel like Ellie Town, from Flowing Wells, AZ, who said,

“When I was working,” recalled Ellie Town, “I’d just get up in the morning and go to work. When I’d come home, I’d do what I had to do and go to bed. I didn’t pay attention to what was going on around me. When I retired, I realized what was going on in the community. That’s when I said, `I’ve got to do something about it.’”Ellie Town's Success Story

As I get older, I know that my involvement with the community will have to grow because I will slowly become a stitch in the community blanket. I will be one of the town's people who will have to make sure that my community is taken care of and is safe for any future generations that will reside in the community after I am gone.

In regards to the rest of the world's people, always make sure to be actively engaged with your community. They are your family as well, even though you may not know them all too well. Because when it counts, they can be your greatest ally and greatest support when push comes to shove.

Imagination is the key to everything

So I was recently going through quotes, yes, I tend to do that, I came upon something rather interesting. The quote is below by the way(obviously). However, I found it eye popping. As a man, it made me think a little bit on whether or not I fully use my imagination in my day to day activities.
For example, if a puzzling obstacle hit me out of the blue, and looking back into my past experiences can't help me, thinking out of the box may present its aid.
The imagination is an incredible state of mind where the craziest, successful, and creative ideas are conjured. Everybody possesses that state of mind, it is innately embedded into us. And accessing that level of mind is rather easy to achieve, once you can find a trigger to initialise it. Just always keep your mind open. Once then, you open it to possibilities, ideas will come spewing out. You'll feel like a genius I promise you.

Life is nothing without problems

One particular topic has been on my mind lately and I didn't know how to fully express my thoughts clearly. However, due to a recent event, I was able to clear my head to understanding what it truly meant to have hard work.

Hard work isn't just the amount of energy you put into whatever you're doing. Instead, it is the amount of passion you have in getting the work done and done right! Life will throw many things in your face and it is up to you to exhibit the passion you have into your work so you can take care of those problems.

I think that one of the best ways to understanding the true meaning of hard work is by participating in a sport. Sports aren't just activities used to train and maintain the body. They are also ways to build character and uniqueness. All professionals have some of the best characteristics and people look up to them because they've learned it all through trials and tribulations. They know how it feels to get knocked down a hundred times; but they also know what it takes to get back up a hundred and one times.

All in all, keep a clear head and everything will start to make sense. Understand that by confronting your problems head on, without fear, and your chin to the sky, you'll overcome those problems and learn what it means to have character. True character.
